Three partner Twitch streamers, Tanzverbot, Orangemorgange and Scurrows, were involved in a physical fight while attending Gamescom, reportedly over gaming content on the streaming platform.
Streamers had fallen out in the weeks leading up to the event, with Tanzverbot criticizing both Scurrows and Orangemorange for their game streams on the platform.
He accused these streamers of influencing their young audiences into game trappings, for the sake of their own monetary gain through referrals.
The feud dealt physical blows at Gamescom, however, with Orangemorange stating after the fight that Tanzverbot “became visibly aggressive and physically attacked me. As a result, I retaliated by throwing a plastic cup in his direction and pushing at him. I fired back, but didn’t knock. In retrospect, of course, that annoys me, but in the end, it was my right to defend myself.
A fourth streamer, quite Lola, tried to intervene and got caught up in the fight and at some point fell to the ground. She then confirmed the Twitter that she was “fine” and thanked people for their messages.
Tanzverbot called Scurrows a “loser” and said he hid behind his “MMA fighter friends”.
In response, Scurrows sarcastically tweeted, “We are casino streamers. Of course we’re guilty, huh? It is obvious! As if Tanzverbot had done nothing! Of course, me, with 60 kg, I intended to start a fight. And Tanzban wanted to defuse, but we overdid it.
As of this writing, there has been no response from Twitch itself, with all partner streamer accounts intact.
Some fans have speculated that bans will be issued to those involved, although there are few precedents on Twitch of instances of a physical confrontation between partners.
The feud is still ongoing, with Scurrows promising a new response on his YouTube channel in the coming days.
